Itinerary

Day 1: Lima

Arrival and reception at Lima airport at the time of your check-in to take you to your hotel. We will depart from Miraflores heading south, always using bike lanes. We will pass by Kennedy Park, also known as Cat Park. Next, we’ll arrive at Love Park, where we will admire the sculpture “The Kiss” by Peruvian artist Víctor Delfín. We will continue along the Miraflores boardwalk, passing by Larcomar shopping center, the second most visited place after Machu Picchu. Then, we’ll reach the Barranco viewpoint to take in the bay of Lima, the San Lorenzo Islands, and the fronton. We’ll move a bit further from the cliffs to see the old, colorful houses of Barranco and enjoy their late 19th-century architecture with large wooden doors and windows. Here we will also enjoy the graffiti art and learn why Barranco is known as Lima’s bohemian and artistic neighborhood.


Day 2: Lima

At the appointed time, we will meet on Arequipa Avenue to pick up bicycles and helmets. We will start cycling among the palm trees lining this street and admire the beauty of the colonial architecture of its mansions.

We will head towards El Olivar Forest, an old viceregal estate with a protected area of 10 hectares, where we can observe various bird species in their natural habitat.

Along the way, we will pass the National Stadium and the Lima Art Museum (MALI). We will stop at San Martín Plaza to learn about the history of one of Lima’s most iconic public spaces.

Next, we will tour the charming streets of Jirón de la Unión, Jirón Ica, and Ucayali to appreciate the famous balconies of Lima. Afterwards, we’ll pass by the Church of San Francisco, notable for its catacombs.

The final stop of the tour will be the Plaza de Armas, where we will find the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and the Municipal Palace.

Finally, we’ll take some time to enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate before returning to the starting point, completing a total of four hours.


Day 3: Lima to Cusco

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Lima airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, we will pick you up at your hotel to start a walking city tour. From the hotel, we’ll head to San Blas, visit the surrounding streets, walk down to the Plaza de Armas, visit San Pedro Market, and finish the tour at Qoricancha.


Day 4: Cusco – Patacancha Explorer

At 8:00 am we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and at 8:30 am from your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

We will arrive at Ollantaytambo village, then continue ascending to the Ocobamba pass at 4200 meters above sea level for about an hour. After a safety briefing and with all the equipment ready, we will prepare to descend. The path is wide with little car traffic; for more experienced riders, there are some road cuts.

This trail is part of the Inca road network, Qhapaq Ñan. We will pass through the town of Willoq, see the terraces of Patacancha, and stop by streams to rest and have a snack. After about 20 minutes, we will continue until reaching the Ollantaytambo Plaza de Armas, where the bike tour ends.

Return to your hotel in Cusco.


Day 5: Cusco / Machu Picchu Explorer Day 1

At 7:00 am, hotel pickup in Cusco. We head towards the Sacred Valley going up to Abra Málaga at 4316 meters above sea level. We’ll stop near Ollantaytambo for 15 minutes. One hour later at the pass, we’ll start the bike tour after a safety briefing and equipment delivery.

For more than 3 hours (55 km), we’ll descend towards the jungle, experiencing altitude and temperature changes, enjoying incredible landscapes until we reach Huamanmarca, the end of the bike tour. We will transfer to Santa María, about 30 minutes away, where we will have lunch.

Then we continue for an hour by vehicle to Santa Teresa hotel to settle in. In the afternoon, you can relax and visit the hot springs of Cocalmayo.


Day 6: Machu Picchu Explorer Day 2

In the morning, after breakfast, we will take transport to the Hydroelectric train station. From there, we’ll walk a route with slight inclines, parallel to the train tracks, for about 2.5 hours, passing some waterfalls until arriving at the village of Aguas Calientes, about 10 km away, where we will spend the night.

Day 7 – Machu Picchu Explorer Day 3

Early in the morning, we will take the bus up to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. For about 2.5 hours, our guide will show us the most famous Inca citadel and “Wonder of the World.” At the agreed time, you will return down to Aguas Calientes to enjoy a delicious lunch. Depending on your train departure time, you will travel for approximately 2 hours to Ollantaytambo station. Upon arrival, our transport will take you back to your hotel in the city of Cusco.


Day 8 – Cusco

 

Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, we will pick up the passengers and transfer them from the hotel to the airport for their flight.
